It was only a matter of time before Webber and Rice began their long-time musical collaboration. In 1965, Andrew Lloyd Webber received a letter from a 21-year-old law student, Tim Rice, who was looking for a composer.In 1991, he married his lifetime partner, Madeleine Gurdon, an equestrian sportswoman, with whom he had three children, named Alastair, William, and Isabella.In 1984, he married his second wife, Sarah Brightman, who was part of the cast of Cats in 1981.From 1971 to 1983, he was married to his first wife, Sarah Hugill, whom he had two children with, named Imogen and Nicholas. Andrew Lloyd Webber has married three times.However, in the winter of 1965, he dropped out to pursue his interest in musical theater and to study at the Royal College of Music.With this dream in mind, he studied at Westminster School as a Queen’s Scholar and pursued a course in history at Magdalen College, Oxford.Andrew Lloyd Webber’s childhood fantasy was to become the chief inspector of England’s ancient monuments.Shortly after, he began creating his own music at age six.Holding a violin, he appeared in Nursery World Magazine at age five.At the age of three, Andrew Lloyd Webber first played the piano and violin before starting to pick up the French horn.His mother, Jean, was a piano teacher, and his younger brother, Julian, was a known concert cellist. William, his father, was the director of the London College of Music. Andrew Lloyd Webber grew up in a musical family.
